Food industry scope

The FDA has a wide range of regulatory coverage for food products, including but not limited to:
Fresh agricultural products, such as fruits, vegetables, meat and poultry.
Processed foods, such as canned foods, frozen foods, baked goods, etc.
Beverages, including juices, carbonated drinks, coffee, tea, etc.
Dietary supplements, food additives.

The registration process usually includes the following main steps:

Determine the classification of the product: First, you need to clarify which category your food product belongs to, because the registration requirements for different categories of food may be different.

Prepare company registration information: including company name, address, contact information, product category and other information.

Determine the US agent: You need to designate an agent in the United States so that the FDA can communicate and contact you.

Submit the registration application: Submit the registration information and related documents through the FDA’s electronic system.

The entire registration process takes about 1 week, and the account password is provided to the manufacturer after registration.

Friendly reminder:

Since 2022, all companies that register FDA factories must have a D-U-N-S® Number. Humiss also provides services to assist companies in obtaining a D-U-N-S® Number
